The Bedrooms:

Each room and suite has been individually decorated to create uniquely lovely surroundings. Please ask us for rates as each room is priced separately.

Room One: This exquisite sea-facing bedroom is decorated in shades of green. It offers contemporary touches with botanical prints, turned lamp bases and a custom-made textured headboard. The bathroom is a luxurious pamper space in marble and silver. The wraparound balcony offers the perfect spot from which to enjoy sundowners and broad vistas of the ocean.

Room Two: A magnificent sea facing room, the generously sized bed welcomes each day by offering up unrivalled views. The accompanying large marble bathroom holds its own in neutral tones accentuated by hints of gold. Comfort and luxury are a given. The balcony beckons you to enjoy a private al fresco dinner.

Room Three: Sun-filled and inviting, known as the “bijoux room”, Room 3 is an understated luxury, cloaked in warm earth colors.. Enjoy a cup of coffee whilst gazing out of your large bay window onto spectacular ocean views below. The en-suite bathroom is finished in cream marble with elegant brass fittings. The original fireplace confirms the authenticity of Ellerman House’s rich history and is topped by a striking study in oil. It is just one of the many pieces of original art that can be seen at Ellerman House.

Room Four: A honeymooner’s delight, Room Four is filled with natural light and faces out onto the sea. Inspired by the romantic shades of the soft Cape twilight, the spacious bedroom and sitting area is appointed in hues of tender mauve and dusty browns. This calming palette is offset by a dramatic en suite bathroom in a sophisticated black slate, punctuated by a circular window that frames the never-ending sea view. The original fireplace and oversized bay window are both typical examples of the home’s Edwardian roots. Two sets of double doors entice one out onto a private patio – the largest that Ellerman House has to offer.

Room Five: Quiet and secluded, with soothing views of our natural rock and water garden, It’s a look of timeless elegance that is echoed in the serene double-basin marble bathroom. Its secluded private balcony allows one to indulgently soak up Mother Nature’s gentle seclusion at its finest

Room Six: One of the original rooms of Ellerman House, Room Six boasts architectural details that both charm and delight. Although it must be noted that this pocket from the past is located at the rear of Ellerman House, and is therefore not sea facing, it is an unforgettable haven filled with the allure of timeless charisma.

Room Seven: Ellerman Suite: Lady Ellerman’s former art studio is the epitome of elegant comfort, with rooms styled with a beautiful layering of colours, fabrics and textures. The large sitting room looks out over the seamless glass balcony and the ever-changing Atlantic Ocean. It also features prized art and sculptures by leading South African artists. The bedroom extends into a dressing room and an exquisite grey marble bathroom with a lovely vintage-feel duo of vanity mirrors.

Room Eight: The intimate private balcony beckons one outside to laze about in the sun, taking in spectacular ocean views. The marble bathroom features a mosaic-tiled shower and glimpses of the lush garden. Possibly one of the prettiest rooms in Ellerman House, Room Eight is delicately adorned in subdued shades of rose and oatmeal. This blissful bedroom is flanked by an immaculate marbled en suite bathroom. Room Eight’s tranquil sense of timeless elegance is framed by a set of curved teak and glass double doors that lead onto an intimate private balcony. It is here that one can dine on picturesque views of the lush manicured gardens or be lulled by the rhythmic hush of the ocean below. Sophisticated, and somewhat stately, solitude has never been quite so rewarding.

Room Nine: Room Nine is a split-level sanctuary that enjoys a hint of the dynamic as the planes between bedroom and seating area interplay. Inspired by the aqua waves below, this room flaunts a sophisticated nautical flair. While the en suite bathroom boasts bold lines in shades of white and cream, which are softened by luxurious modern touches. The seating area, which pays homage to the ever-changing Atlantic Ocean beyond its windows, provides an area for calm and pause. All of which is completed by the private balcony that sets the stage for memories that are guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Room Ten: The split-level Room 10 delights with a sophisticated fusion of old and new. The raised bedroom features a majestic king sized bed. The original paintings on the wall only serve to one’s appreciation of the ocean that lies beyond. Double doors lead out to the private balcony that affords views of the garden, pool and sea – all pleasingly framed by the gentle sweep of the gracious Ellerman House veranda arch.

Room Eleven – East Wing Suite: The luxurious East Wing Suite exudes timeless luxury and offers spacious living for business and pleasure. The raised bedroom features stylish textured wallpaper in hues of duck egg and caramel, sumptuous linens and a down duvet for the ultimate in snug comfort. Entertain eight friends in the elegant dining area or relax in the lounge, where Dylan Lewis artworks offset priceless old masters paintings. The bathroom is a serene haven decked out in marble and brass fittings, and boasts a huge vintage shower head sourced from London’s Savoy Hotel. Spa Pool Room: The serene infinity pool – which seems to extend into the Atlantic Ocean – is a stunning focal point in this spacious room adjacent to the Ellerman Spa. Heavenly scents drift into this tranquil space which is bathed in soothing nature-inspired colours and textures. The décor is modern and minimal with warm beech wood paneling and hints of coppery tones.

Spa Deck Room: A warm cocoon of honey-coloured wood paneling, plush carpet and crisp cotton has been created in this peaceful sanctuary-within-a-sanctuary. While away the time in the curved bath, looking out over the endless ocean, or soak up some sun on the patio right outside your sanctum. The bathroom is a contemporary fusion of glass and granite, which can be closed off with discreet sliding door.

Rates and Packages

Nightly room rates for 2012/2013 range from R 5,200 to R 17,900 in the low season and R 5,500 to R 18,600 in the high season depending on room/suite. Rates include:
