The Library is tucked into a peaceful corner of Franschhoek, which is the destination to stay when visiting the Cape winelands – it is the original French Hugenot slice of the winelands where the French arrived in the cape and planted their vines brought from their lands in France

Framed by two big old, beautiful Jacaranda Trees and an ancient Oak tree. A million purple blossoms greet you to this modern getaway with an open plan living, dining area and contemporary kitchen with plenty of space to create wonderful feasts for the family. The views stretch to the Franschhoek mountains with the bedrooms all downstairs to fall straight into the pool.

The décor is still in the inimitable adventurer style of the Explorers club photographs and collections of travels to be had and to have with splashes of Masai red, soft blue-grey comfy couches, eclectic lightshades, lots of tables and chairs inside and out for feasting.

There is plenty to do – relax with an armful of books by the pool, amble into the village to sightsee and collect the croissants, pop into the deli to choose goodies for a lunchtime feast book a favourite restaurant for dinner one evening. Further afield there are wine farms and Jonkershoek game reserve to visit. The wine farms are all named after the original descendants land in France – La Motte, Provence, Chamonix, La Dauphine. Franschhoek celebrates Bastille Day every year!

Ps The Explorers club is interconnected to the Library if you need LOADS of room for extended family and friends. The Library is a wonderful week away from it all for the entire family.
