The Etosha National Park in the north of Namibia extends over 22,270 square kilometres and was established in 1907. It is a remarkable sanctuary for the country’s diverse wildlife, based on the enormous Etosha Pan that receives seasonal water flows from the north-east. Mushara Outpost is a unique tented lodge just 10 km from the gate to the Etosha National Park, a beautiful mixture of desert, semi-desert, and savannah habitat. The Mushara Outpost is one of a collection of privately owned luxury accommodations. Created and owned by Namibians, Marc and Mariza Pampe, this lodge was completed in 2009. Mushara Outpost consists of eight tent-like wood and canvas permanent rooms offering simple elegance on the banks of an ancient dry riverbed. A spacious veranda also allows guests to relax amidst the open air.

Combining modern comfort with rustic atmosphere, the lodge’s main house is fashioned like an old farm house with a country wrap-around veranda. Daily management is in the hands of a predominantly female local team, who demonstrate not only their excellent training, but also an enthusiasm for their roles, not the least of which is their singing !
